The Chinese Zodiac is a traditional way to celebrate the time, month and year, and is an important part of the traditional festival culture of the Chinese nation, which is full of auspiciousness and harmony. 2024 is the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, and “Dragon” is the unique spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation, representing the vast Chinese civilization and rich cultural connotations. “Dragon” is the unique spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation, representing the vast Chinese civilization and rich cultural connotations. As the only fictional animal in the Chinese Zodiac, the dragon is a fusion of many animals and natural phenomena. It symbolizes wisdom, strength, fortitude, good fortune and honor.
In the past two years, the Year of the Tiger and Year of the Rabbit Belgian Zodiac Design Competitions, co-sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Belgium and the Chinese Cultural Center in Brussels, and co-organized by Atlas HiSEAS and the China-Europa International Design and Culture Association, have aroused the creative enthusiasm of design enthusiasts in Belgium and even throughout Europe for the culture of the Chinese Zodiac.
Halfway through the year, and as the summer colors fade, the 2024 Global Lucky Chinese Zodiac Design Competition sets sail once again, inviting Belgian and European design forces to join in the festivities, focusing on the theme of the Chinese Zodiac, “Dragon”, and giving new vitality to the traditional Chinese Zodiac through creative expression, as well as using the language of design to integrate the cultural exchanges of China, Belgium and China-Europe. The winning designs will be exhibited simultaneously in China and Belgium during the Chinese New Year of the Dragon in 2024.
