China-Korea International Design Week was organized in 2020 and has been successfully held for three times. The first edition was organized by the Korea-China Design and Creative Industry Association (KCDCA), the Confucius Cultural Center in Korea, and Hongik University in Korea, and the second edition was organized by KCDCA, the Confucius Cultural Center in Korea, and Dalian University of Technology in China. The second edition was hosted by the Korea-China Design and Creative Industry Association, Confucius Cultural Center, and Dalian University of Technology, China. 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, and the third edition of the China-Korea International Design Week was successfully held at the National Assembly of South Korea and Donghua University in China, making it an important design event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. Culture is the spiritual lifeblood of the nation, and design is the art of the times. The Design Week aims to promote industrial integration and exchange and cooperation in the field of design by showcasing the design achievements of China, Korea and the world. As a platform to deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, by showcasing the outstanding works and innovative ideas of designers from China, Korea and even other countries, China-Korea International Design Week will demonstrate the rich diversity and outstanding achievements of the two countries in the field of design.
With the themes of “Green”, “Sustainability” and “Cross-fertilization”, the 4th CKIDW 2024 aims to lead the design community to focus on the importance of environmental protection and sustainability. The theme is “Green”, “Sustainability” and “Cross-Convergence”. By showcasing and discussing innovative designs with green concepts and sustainable ideas, the Design Week will promote the design industry in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable direction. At the same time, the theme of cross-fertilization will promote cross-border cooperation between the design field and other industries to create more innovative and forward-looking design achievements.
